Joyous Christmas Season

Christmas break, don't you love it? Eating, sleeping, relaxing, hanging with friends, what more could you ask for? Except for the fact that there was no snow, I consider this to be a pretty good break that sped past. There is one sad part about the break, now that it's over there will be nothing to look forward to until spring break, and that's quite a long time away.

Christmas for me was full of food and fun. Although I didn't really eat that much, there was still a lot sitting in front of me. Steaming turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, the works! I love it! Along with the food come the calories, but guess what I discovered a way to burn those devils! It's a wonderful invention called Dance Dance Revolution, OH BABY! Man, does that give you a work out.

My favorite part of Christmas is money; green, crisp, sweet-smelling money! Not only the money, but also the spending of the money. I went shopping today and almost died of the delight of walking around the mall and trying on clothes! I didn't have much success, but hey at least it was fun.

Now let's talk about the no snow crap! Guess what, there was no snow! No snowmen, no snowball fights, no snow angels, and no fun. What is Christmas without snow? Don't ask me, but I sure did miss it. Don't you love it when you get to wake up to a heaping pile of sparkling snow on your front lawn? I know I do, and I didn't get that morning this Christmas and it sucks.

Well now that I'm out of things to talk about...................let's make up some Christmas songs.

*Christmas Break Joys*

Sitting on the couch
While staring at the screen
Eating lots of food
Like pies and a green bean.

Looking out the window
Hoping for some snow
Then finally giving up
Is there ever any, NO!

Laying in your bed
Rolling all around
Looking forward to sleeping in
And falling asleep in a bound. (No clue if that makes any sense?)

Sitting in front of the tree
Shaking all the presents
Enjoying the heat from the lights
And feeling quite pleasant!

Well now that my sucky song is over, I am going to have to bid you farewell, while I finish enjoying my Christmas break free of homework! Give me a break if this isn't quite long enough, since it is Christmas and all!

The Killer Case of Influenza

"Mom pull over I think I'm gonna hurl!" My mom frantically pulled over to the side of the road,

"Hurry get out, don't you dare get throw up in my car!" I jumped out of the car, but nothing came out. I got back in the car and we started to drive once again. We were on the way to the orthodontist, "Do you think you can make through your appointment?" my mom asked unsure.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure," I answered. As we quietly drove down the street I couldn't stop thinking about throwing up all over my orthodontist while he was innocently trying to fix my teeth. "Just kidding, just go home I'm not going to make it." My mom instantly turned around and headed home.

When we arrived home, I hopped out of the car and sprinted up the stairs. I ran to the bathroom and put my face in the toilet. I was waiting for the throw up to come spurting out of my mouth. I sat there for five minutes with no luck. I tried gagging myself, but still no luck. I slowly stood up and walked into my room to get into my lounge clothes. I sucessfully did that without any action.

I went downstairs and started my search for just the right movie to watch. I finally found it, "Anastasia". I sat down and tried to watch the movie, but I couldn't. All I could think about was SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL! It kept running through my mind! So much homework, so much time, so boring! Oh well, I can't help that I'm sick, I kept thinking to myself.

"Do you mind if I go Christmas shopping, or do you need me to stay here with you?"

"I'm okay mom, you can go."

" Are you sure because I really can stay here if you need me to."

"No, just go." My mom finally gave in and went Christmas shopping. Right as she walked out the door I had the sudden urge to throw up! I ran to the toilet as fast as I could, and I barely made it! Right as I bent over, it came out. The acidy chunks pouring out of my mouth and nose, and stingy the whole time. Finally, after a five minute throw up session, I was done! I got up and rinsed out my mouth. I looked at myself in the mirror, my pale face and running mascara. "The flu sucks", I said to myself as I sat down and continued to watch my movie.

Dating DRAMA

Dating……. isn’t that such a critical thing at our age. I just turned 15 on Monday and I know I can't wait until I'm sixteen, only one more year. Sixteen is the greatest age, dating and driving, OH BABY! I know I can't wait to date, or get my first kiss, I am overjoyed with excitement. Along with the love there comes the drama. Dramatic drama, oh the horror!

Drama is definitely on of the biggest parts of dating. One person breaks up with another person to go out with another person who breaks up with that person to go out with another person. It’s hectic and crazy, I know! When somebody breaks up with you, cry a river and get over it. There are plenty of fish in the sea……… the sea of love that is! You most likely won’t be marrying the boy or girl who breaks up with you, so accept the broken relationship and continue on your search for the right person.

I’m not saying dating is all bad, since I am looking forward to it and all. Just think of it, holding of the hands, kissing of the lips, and all of the other great stuff that I don’t really know about. You will finally get to call someone you boyfriend, for real, none of these fake relationships in junior high. You finally get someone to call your own, until they break up with you that is!

I’m also kind of nervous to date, what if you make a complete fool of yourself on your first date and the other person is totally disgusted. I’m afraid that when I’m eating, I’m going to sneeze my food all over them, or I’m going to spill all over myself. Another question I have is what do you talk about? What if you have nothing whatsoever in common, what if the only reason you went out was because you thought you did? Would you talk about your family, personal life, interests? I think I’ll stick with interests, which could create a good conversation. The thing I’m most nervous for is my first kiss, what if it goes totally wrong, and you end up slobbering all over each other? What if you find out that your date is a bad kisser, should you just deal with it, or immediately break up with them? Come on Mr. Thompson, you’ve gone through all of this, give me some useful advice.

I think that dating around is a good idea, don’t get one boyfriend or girlfriend and keep them for all of high school. Take a bite out of someone and them chuck them out and move onto the next flavor. Don’t do it in a mean way, just get a little taste of everything so you know what you like and what you don’t like. If you guys aren’t excited for dating yet, you must have problems. Get excited, it will be a blast of fun, and a blast o

Homework........ what can I say about homework. Actually, I can say a lot on that subject. An overall definition for homework is a peice of work for students to take home that is meant to help them learn and practice what they've learned, when really it's meant to take up students' whole lives to make them have no social life. I think that the real reasons teachers give us homework is because they don't have time to do it in class, so they stuff it in our faces and then send us home to do it. They don't give it to us so we can learn from it, but just because they don't have any STINKIN' time during class.

I'm not saying that homework is all bad, but when it takes up your whole day, it is. At the beginning of the year, they told us that we were only supposed to get 15 minutes of homework a day in each class. And not always in every class. I get at least an hour of homework in at least four classes a night. I come home from school and start doing my homework, and then at eight-o-clock at night I'm still not done. Guess what, I don't even take breaks unless I'm hungry, or if my brain is going to explode from too much thinking and concentration. I hate homework. I would like to have a social life, but with homework, that's not possible.

Now let's talk about the weekends, I even get homework on those. My goal on the weekends is to hang out with my friends, sleep, and relax. The key word being relax, I can't really do that because I'm too busy doing homework. If I were to have a say in it, I would say that teachers couldn't give any homework unless they want their students to give them some. I bet you that if students were to give teachers homework for everytime they gave students homework, they would cool it on the amount.

Teachers, I know you're going to have reasons to argue with this, but just don't, I don't really care what you think. You're going to tell me, that all homework is for reason when really, I know as well as you do, there is no reason for the amount. I wouldn't mind if you only gave us 30 minutes of homework a night in a couple classes but an hour is a little extreme. Teachers maybe you should take something from this blog, put your self in your students' shoes and CUT DOWN ON HOMEWORK.

Thanksgiving Feast

"Come on girls, it's time to go to grandma's house," my mom called from downstairs. My sisters and I scrambled to finish getting ready. We ran downstairs and we headed out of the door.

"Let's listen to Christmas music," I suggested.

"No, I don't want to," my sister Chelsie complained.

"Shut up, we're listening to Christmas music," I snapped back.

"Girls, stop fighting! I'm not in the mood to listen to it. Just sit there and keep your mouths shut until we get there. I will choose the music," my mom shouted. My sisters and I, not wanting to get in trouble, did just that. Finally, we pulled into my grandma's driveway.

"Hello, it's about time you guys got here," my grandma said as we walked in her front door. " I hope you guys are ready to eat because I made a lot of food."

"I'm hungry, trust me grandma," I said as a my stomach growled.

"Now hurry downstairs and say hi to all of your cousins." Me and my sisters ran downstairs, excited to to see everyone. We walked downstairs and visited for a while until it was time to eat.

"Come and eat," My grandma called from upstairs. Like a herd of elephants, my cousins and I ran upstairs. I waited patiently, well impatiently in line for the food. Finally I got to the mashed potatoes, my favorite part of thanksgiving dinner. I loaded up on those and headed back downstairs to sit down and eat. I ate and ate and ate until I was stuffed.

"Man, I said as everyone finished eating, I can barely breathe I'm so full.

"I know," everybody agreed. After our stomachs were able to settle, we all wanted to play a game. We decided to play B.S. the card game. We all sat down around the table and started to play. After two rounds, and me winning both of them, we sat down and wanted to watch a movie. We all decided on Cars. As we watched the movie with our still, overly-stuffed bellies, we began to doze off. We were all almost asleep when my grandma called, "It's time for pie."

We all jumped up, as if we were starved, and ran upstairs. We sat around the table and talked about the past as we each ate five slices of pie. After a good conversation and plenty of pie, we were all ready to go home. We said good-bye and we were off. " Dang, I can't wait for next Thanksgiving," I said as we got in the car.

First Kiss

"Do you want to go out with me?" Drew anxiously asked Cici. "Well, will you?" Drew snapped after thirty seconds of silence. "Pleeeeaaase!"

"Sure, why not," Cici finally replied.

"Gosh, why did you have to wait so long, you were starting to scare me. I was nervous as it was."

"I just wanted to see that desperate look on your face as you sat there impatiently waiting for my reply."

"Thanks a lot!"

"So, I guess were officially boyfriend and girlfriend now."

"Heck yes! I finally get you all to myself. The next guy who checks you out is going to get a beating from me."

"Chill out, there is such thing as players. How do you know that I'm not one?" Drew just looked over at Cici and smiled. Cici smiled back and then grabbed his hand. They walked down the hall hand in hand for the first time. Drew walked Cici to her class, and then happily skipped down the hall to his. When he walked into his science class, he made the announcement,

"Just so everybody knows, I'm officially going out with Cici!" The whole class oohhed and aahhed with sarcasm.

"It's about time," somebody called out. Drew, still totally psyched about his new "relationship", walked over to his seat. He sat down and instantly began to count down the minutes for the bell to ring.

"Why are you so happy?" Mrs. Weaver asked as she walked into the classroom. "This is science, you're supposed to be moaning and complaining."

"He just asked Cici out, and she said yes," someone from the class shouted out.

"OOOOHHHHH, I remember my first boyfriend," Mrs. Weaver said teasing Drew.

"He was a jerk, I found him making out with another girl two days after he asked me out!" Drew was sitting at his seat with a big smile on his face, not listening to one word his teacher was saying. Drew sat like that throughout Mrs. Weaver's whole lecture, and the smile never left his face. Eventually, after what seemed like a lifetime, the bell rang. Anxiously, he ran out of the classroom and down the hall to where Cici was. They walked, again hand in hand, to Cici's locker. When they were both done getting their homework out of their lockers they walked to the front of the school.

"See ya Cici."

"Bye, I'll see yo tomorrow." She started to walk away but then turned back. She ran over to Drew and gave him a big, slobbery kiss on the lips.

"WHOA," Drew said, totally in shock. Cici, without saying a word, ran to her mom's car. She sat silently the whole ride home. She couldn't stop thinking about if the kiss was a little too much, but knowing Drew, it definately wasn't too much. Infact, it probably wasn't enough. She couldn't wait until the next day not to give him another kiss, but just to hold his hand.

Dang Limbo!

“Hallelujah, it’s finally fourth period,” I said to my friend Kelsie. It was Caribbean Day in Geography, and we were going to finally have some fun in that class. We walked down the hall chatting away about the latest “relationship.” We barely made to our seats by the time the bell rang. We both sat down and continued to mouth things to each other, and continuing to make each other laugh, while our teacher taught us about the Caribbean.

When my teacher was done babbling on about the uniqueness of the people of the Caribbean, she asked for a volunteer. “Oh me me me, choose me,” I pleaded. My pleading eventually paid off and she chose me. I ran up to the front of the classroom. She held up one side of a blue rod and told me to take a hold of the other.

“Everybody line up,” my teacher hollered, “We’re playing the limbo. Phew I thought to myself relieved that I didn’t have to play the actual game. I am tall, buxom, and don’t make a very good limbo player. I watched the game and laughed at the people who were struggling. Finally the game was over.

“We’re going to play again so I am going to need a new volunteer,” my teacher announced.

“Please let me hold the stick again, don’t make me embarrass myself in front of the whole class trying to limbo. "

“No, go get in line”

“Fine,” I mumbled as I slowly walked to get in line with Kelsie and the rest of my friends. I waited patiently in line, dreading my turn. But unfortunately my turn came soon; it was only the first round so the stick was high. I bent back a little bit and easily made it under. The next round was pretty easy too. This isn’t so bad I thought to myself. The next round I was kind of looking forward to since I hadn’t made a complete fool out of myself………yet. I was at the front of the line looking at the stick; I knew could make it under since it was only an inch lower than the last time. I bent back and walked under the stick; I made it all the way under. As I started to stand up straight, I sadly fell down on my knees, the only thing I was avoiding.

“You’re out,” my teacher said. How embarrassing, I was already out and it was only the third round. Trying to hide my embarrassment I started cheering on my friends. But the thing I couldn’t help noticing that my crush was laughing at me. Instantly I started laughing with him, what else was I supposed to do? I continued to laugh and cheer until that never-ending game was over.

Still embarrassed by the game, I decided that I need to cover my inability to do the limbo by doing what I do best, acting like a goofball. I did everything I could, made jokes, danced like a psycho, I even drank the Hawaiian punch out of the 2 liter bottle. You see, I don’t really care what people think about me, so I do just about anything and everything that other people would consider insane. I got most of the class laughing, except for my target. I eventually gave up and figured that he wasn’t worth it anyway. This story was pretty pointless, but you can get one thing out of it. Cover up embarrassment by acting like an idiot!

Halloween Lovers

"Hurry up, and get your butt over here," my friend Jackie yelled at me through the phone.

"Chill out! I'm coming right now," I shouted back even louder. Jackie always gives me lectures about being late so I decided that I better go. "Come on mom, we have to go!"

"I'm coming right now; just go get in the car." It took us twice as long as it usually does to get over to Jackie’s house because of all of the Halloween frenzy. But eventually we pulled into the driveway. I grabbed my overnight bag, since I was sleeping over, and hopped out of the car slamming the door behind me.

"Bye mom," I shouted to her from outside of the car.

"I'll see you tomorrow. Have a lot of fun and be safe," She replied with a serious look on her face. I sprinted up the Jackie's porch and pounded on her door. Jackie came to the door and let me in.

"Wow, you're actually here on time"

"I know, aren't you proud of me!" We went up to her room and got ready to go trick-or-treating. I dressed up as a clown and she was Cinderella. There was no surprise there because she always seems to be the prettier one. As soon as we finished slapping on the last few pounds of make-up, we heard a knock at the door.

"Cass, will you get the candy bowl?" she said jumping down the stairs expecting in to be a trick-or-treater.

"Sure," I called back expecting the same thing. But to Jackie's surprise it wasn't a trick-or-treater; it was a friend of hers off of her soccer team.

“Hey Jake, how are you? I really didn't think that you would come, but the more the merrier so come on in" Jackie said to Jake.

“I’m Cassidy," I said introducing myself. “I’ve heard a lot about you," I continued on. Not more than a second later, bored with the conversation, Jackie chimed in “Well, let's get going, we're losing daylight." So off we went into the wild blue yonder.

I got to know Jake pretty well that night. I noticed how nice of neck he had, and his hilarious laugh. But the thing I noticed the most was how big of a crush he had on Jackie. "Oooohhh, somebody has a thing for you," I said to Jackie walking a few paces ahead of Jake.

"Shut up!" whispered Jackie, punching me in the arm. The whole rest of the night I noticed Jake constantly staring at Jackie. He would always try to be the center of attention, proving to Jackie that he was better than me even though he wasn't. I could just imagine him daydreaming about kissing Jackie's luscious lips. I could tell that Jackie had a thing for Jake too, it went both ways.

When we arrived home from trick-or-treating me and Jackie were tired and wanted Jake to go home so we could have a “girl conversation." Yet, every time we mentioned him leaving he always seemed to avoid the actually going home part. After 30 more minutes of talking, we finally told him he had to go home. Still trying to avoid going home, he continued to talk. Eventually Jackie’s mom came in,

"Come on guys, let's take Jake home."

"Sounds good to me," I said quite a bit annoyed with the fact that Jake wouldn't shut up. After a bit of force, we finally got him in the car. The ride to Jake's house was kind of awkward, because of the fact that Jake just stared at Jackie really wanting to make out with her. Finally after what seemed like hours, we arrived at his house. As soon as he hopped out of the car I began making fun of Jackie.

"Somebody has the hots for you"

"I know," Jackie's mom agreed.

"You really think so," Jackie said blushing." I kind of like him too." I knew this was going to be a long night of juicy girl talk.

Mice Mice Mice

"Not the house," I pleaded to my mom, “Please don't sell the house!"

“We’re selling the house, and that's final," my mom yelled as she stomped into her room and slammed her door. “We only have to live in an apartment while our new house is getting built, it won't be too long," she shouted from inside her room. What's up her butt, I thought to myself as I sulkingly sprawled out on my bedroom floor. I had lived in this house ever since I was two and had grown to love it. I hated change, and was not excited for a big change like this one.

"Why me, why does everything bad have to happen to me," I said feeling bad for myself. I was really upset that we had to move from my average-sized house into a tiny duplex. I was not looking forward to the torture of having to share a room with my sister, and I was definitely not looking forward to having to share a bathroom with all of them. I thought it was torture moving away from all of my friends, all of my neighbors, and of course, my house. But I hadn't experienced true torture until a couple weeks after we moved into our tiny duplex.

It was a peaceful day in the Jensen duplex, until my mom picked up my cat's food dish to vacuum underneath it. As she lifted up the dish, a mouse crawled up her arm to her shoulder and then jumped off. My mom started screaming, and then sprinted to the couch and hopped onto it as fast as possible. I don't think that I had ever seen her run that fast before. The rest of the day, we were on the look out for mice. We didn't see anymore until a couple nights later.

"Time for bed girls," my mom yelled to me and my sisters. I slowly walked to my bed, since I was to the least bit tired. I laid in my bed for 20 minutes with my eyes wide open until suddenly I heard this squeaking noise in my closet, I hopped out of my bed and sprinted to my parents room.

"Mom, there's a mouse in my closet!"

"No there's not, just go back to bed."

"Mom, really there is. Will you please come and check?" Sure enough when we opened the closet, out ran the nasty mouse. “I told you."

" That's disgusting," my mom said as she walked back into her room. Since I was totally freaked out of mice, I followed. “What are you doing?" she asked.

" Do you really expect me to sleep in there after what just happened?"

" I guess not since I wouldn't. Come on you can sleep with me tonight."

This was not the only mouse incident we encountered, in fact we had so many that I eventually lost my fear of mice. My dad did too, since he killed one with his bare foot. Mice are disgusting creatures, and I hope that none of you have to move into a house that is infested with them.

Where is the Love?

What in the heck is going on! I thought to myself as I layed on my bed crying hysterically. I had just received the worst news of my life. I was simply eating dinner when my parents had called us downstairs, "Girls, can you come downstairs we need to talk to you."

"Fine," I mumbled as stuffed in my last bite of chicken. I went downstairs expecting it to be a good talk, but I was so wrong. Unsuspectedly, my sisters and I plopped down on the couch.

"Your dad and I are splitting up," Instantly my sisters and I began to cry. "I'm sorry, we have to do this to you guys but it's just not going to work out."

"Why does this have to happen to me," I screamed!

"We still love you girls the same but we think that it is better for everyone if we don't stay together!" Totally overwhelmed with this unsuspected news, I was not prepared for what they were going to say next! " We also have to sell the house, and the car" We had just barely built, and moved into our house two years ago. I had just barely gotten used to the neighborhood, and now we had to leave it.

"You're ruining my life," I hollered at my parents, as I sprinted into my room. I felt so bad for myself. I had heard stories about kids whose parents had split up, and never in a million years thought that it would happen to me. The rest of the night I locked myself in my room, and talked to nobody. I was mad at my parents, wouldn't you be if this happened to you! Eventually, I cried myself to sleep.

The next morning I woke up, I was totally fine until I remembered what had happened the night before. I got ready for school totally depressed, and bawling the entire time. When I was finally ready I went to school, praying the whole way there that nobody would ask me what my problem was. Unfortunately, my prayers weren't answered, everybody asked me what was wrong. When I told them what was wrong, they started treating me differently. My friends were hanging all over me, which was the last thing I wanted. I just wanted to be left alone, I wasn't in the mood for hugs and comforting words. School went by like a blur, and after a long day of tears, I went home.

When I arrived home all of my nosy neighbors wandered over and asked what was going on. Not wanting to tell the whole story again, since I had been telling it all day, I just started crying. I couldn't stop, my flood gates were opened, and it was impossible to close them. I was sick of everybody asking me, and I was sick of getting treated differently by the people who felt bad for me. I just wanted to be left alone. I felt like I was living a bad dream. No, this was worse than a bad dream, it was a nightmare.

Cleaning: An Exhausting Task

Once a week I go to my cousin's and clean her house. Well actually, she's my cousin's wife. My cousin, Tim, died from a brain anurism while he was at war in Iraq, not quite a year ago. His wife Sharon has had cancer and they have two kids, Ammon who is five, and Gracelynn who is barely a year old. Sharon has a hard time cleaning because of her lung problems from the cancer and so she needs someone to help her. For the time being, that someone is me.

It would usually take me about three hours do everything on the list, but it's a lot harder and takes a lot longer with her kids hanging all over me. Grace loves to be held and it's pretty hard to mop a floor and hold a crying baby at the same time but somehow, I do it. Then there is Ammon, he's a bit on the wild side. The last time I went he was trying to beat me up while I was vacuuming the stairs, all that ended up in was both of us tumbling down the stairs. Another thing Ammon is good at is making messes as I clean. The messes are never ending. What really makes me loose my temper is when Ammon lets the Bankses' dog into the house. As the dog runs through the house its muddy paws get my newly mopped floor dirty again. I drag the disgusting dog by its collar out the door just as their cat runs in, but their cat, luckily, isn't dirty. I usually chase it for about ten minutes before I catch it and chuck it out the door.

After I finally get the floor remopped Ammon's little friend Elias comes over, he's a member of the Bankses family. Elias's hungry stomach usually comes with him. When he walks in the house he finds a bag of chips and shoves a handful into his mouth. The problem with this is that usually for every chip he eats he drops three. So once again, I sweep the floor and send Ammon and his mess-making friend Elias out the door.

My next step is entertaining Grace while I fold the laundry, she's a one year old who's into everything and so this is a hard task. Sharon will just sit and the couch and watch me struggle without saying a word except, "that's hers," and "that's his," specifying whether it's Ammon's or Grace's. I don't know why she tells me when it's totally obvious since they're four years apart with completely different genders. This is a long task since there are usually two overflowing baskets full of Graces' dresses and Ammons' t-shirts.

Finally, about four and a half hours later, I have finished cleaning. Exhausted I fling myself on the couch hoping to take a little rest when Sharon asks me to watch her kids and a couple others while she goes and talks to her neighbors. Of course I say yes and out the door she goes. I play with them while the children's parents enjoy a nice adult conversation. Not too long after I hear a honk. Totally overjoyed I run outside to get Sharon, she hands me the check for thrity dollars, and then I sprint to my car. Cleaning her house always leaves me energyless and I always look foward to going to bed that night.

Best Friends!

I layed at home bored out of my mind, waiting impatiently for my friend Whitney to call. " Only twenty more minutes," I thought to myself. I was so excited to finally be able to hang out with friends, and to take a little break from dreaded homework. Finally after what seemed like hours the phone rang. I sprinted up the stairs into the kitchen and picked up the phone, " Hello ....hello, is anybody there ?" There was nobody there, it was just a stinkin' prank call. So I walked backed downstairs pissed off that it was Whitney on the phone. I layed back down and continued to watch "Peewee's Playhouse," a quite hillarious show that came across as I flipped through the channels.

An hour later the phone rang again. I only jogged up the stairs this time, not expecting it to be Whitney. When I picked up the phone, it turned out to be her. Filled with joy, and anger at the same time I said, "What took you so long?"

" Sorry I had to watch my little brother while my parents went out. They're home now so you can come over whenever ."

" Ok, I'll be over later," I said not wanting her to know that I had been waiting for her to call for the past hour. As I hung up the phone I ran into my sister's room, "Laura, take me to Whitney's," I said.

"No, don't tell me what to do, it's my car not yours."

"Please take me, if you don't I'll call mom and tell her that you won't!"

"Fine, get your butt in the car, and hurry because I have a life too you know!"

When we finally arrived in Whitney's driveway, I hopped out the car and slammed the door. "Thanks," I yelled as Laura sped off down the street. I ran up and knocked on the door. Laura answered and I stepped inside. We went up to her room and contemplated what to do. " What do you want to do?" I asked Whitney.

" I don't know, what do you want to do" she replied.

" Let's go to a movie," I said.

" No there are no good movies out!"

Fine, let's go to................... to Subway." She agreed with that suggestion, and we were off. We decided to walk since there was a Subway not too far from where she lived. We each ate a foot long sandwhich and then headed back home totally stuffed. On the way back we made a pit stop at a gas station to pick up a magazine and candy to eat when we got home.

When we arrived back at Whitney's house we immediately went up to her room to read the magazine. We flipped it open " Nick Lachey's and Jessica Simpson's big break up." Whitney read the story out loud. "I knew they wouldn't last," I said as I chomped on my candy bar.

"They're the longest lasting celebrity couple that I have ever heard of," Whitney replied. When we finished the magazine, we had found pictures and posters that we had to add to Whitney's wall of hot guys. We did that and then flopped down on her bed not knowing what to do next. We started naming things off, but everything we named took energy and money, two things that neither of us had, so we just decided to talk. We always talk if we have nothing else to do.

Before I knew it my mom was honking. It was already 11:00 p.m., we had been talking for three hours. I told Whitney bye, and then went out to my car. When I got in my mom asked me if I had fun. " Yah, it would've been boring with anyone else, but with Whitney, my best friend, everything is fun!"

The Legless Wonders

"OUCH" I screamed in pain as my doctor twisted my leg around and around. I was at the doctor's office getting my leg checked to see if I had broken it. All that I was worried about at this point was if I was going to have to show up in a wheel chair the next day at school. I felt so bad for myself, why did I have to be the one tortured by the school mascott. You see this is how it all started.

I was at my school's volleyball game when I hurt my leg. I was standing up and doing the cheers with all of the cheerleaders when all of the sudden the mascott came up to me and pushed me off the bleachers. He pushed me, an innocet girl who was just trying to show a little school spirit. As I fell off the bleachers I twisted my leg all the way around, well that is what it felt like anyway. That was the last thing that I remember because after falling I passed out from being in so much pain.

The next thing I knew I was at the doctor's office waiting patiently for the doctor to tell me if I broke my leg or not. The doctor did a few tests, and a couple of x-rays before he said anything. When he was done he looked at me with a nasty scowl. I had never been so nervous in my life. He told me that I had not only broken it, but also screwed up my leg so bad that the only way to make my leg stop throbbing with pain was to amputate it. Instantly I started to cry, actually I bauled uncontrollobly, but wouldn't you if you had to get your leg amputated? I continued to cry for about twenty minutes until I finally got control of my emotions and agreed to the amputation. As soon as I told the doctor about my decision he began the operation.

After I woke up from the operation I was in the worst pain that I had ever been in before. The worst part about waking up, though, was looking down and instead of a leg I had a stub in place of it. That took a lot of getting used to. But before I knew it I was used to hopping on one leg and ready to go to school.

When I arrived at school a few days later I was the center of attention. I have never gotten so many stares before in one day. There were a lot of snickers and whispers and people stared at my stub and watched me hop around like an idiot. Many people that used to be my friends, weren't anymore. Except for my best friend Becca who still loved me just the same.

That day went like any other day of school except for all the staring of course, until the end of sixth period. My friend Charlie had strug a peice of yarn across the hall and as I walked down the hill I tripped over it. I was so embarassed, partly because everyone was staring but also because I couldn't get up. I rolled around on the floor attempting every possible way there was to get up.Eventually I just gave up and layed on the floor while crying from embarassment. Surprisingly someone finally came to my rescue. As he helped me up he told everyone who was staring to keep walking, I was so glad that somebody was nice enough to help a cripple out.

I am 18 now and ever since that day Timmy (the boy who helped me) and I , have been inseparable. Timmy is a great guy. As soon as Timmy really felt that we were "meant to be together", he went and got his leg amputated too. Ever since then we have been called the legless wonders, and we are proud of it!!!!

You Drive Me Crazy!

What bugs you the most in a person? What kind of things do people do that annoy the crap out of you? What traits do people have that makes it so that you can't stand them? There are a lot of things that I don't like in people, and there are many traits that people have that make me want to shoot myself in the head when I'm around them.

It annoys me how some people are so clueless and ditsy that they wouldn't know that their house was on fire even if they were the one who started it! They're the ones who would see a man-eating monster and just stand there and scream instead of trying to escape! For example, last year at my other school there was a girl in my math class that was just like this. She was so ditsy that it was entertaining. Everday when I saw her in class I would say,

"Hey, your shoes are on fire." Her reply to this would always be the same,

" Are they really," then she would look down at her feet in fright. When she finally realized that they really weren't on fire she would look at me and say, " They are not, you silly goose!" She actually called me a silly goose. All I could think to myself was how anybody could fall for that lame joke everyday, I'm talking everyday!! She had no common sense whatsoever!

Another thing that bothers me about people is when they are way too nice. Don't get me wrong, I love nice people, but some people are just too nice. These are the people that are always smiling, and no matter how mean you are to them, they still treat you like their best friend. For example, people who compliment you a thousand times on the same thing. They might say," Your hair is soooo cute today." That's all good until five seconds later they say, " I absolutely love your hair." The first two times are bearable but when they repeat the exact same two lines 26 more times in the next minute and a half, that is when it gets obnoxious.

Another thing that I don't like in people is when they are stuck up and think that they are too cool for everybody. These are the people who duck under high fives in the hall or just pretend like they didn't see it. I especially hate the rankings people put on eachother. You know, like the popular kids, the normal kids, and the nerds. There is no such thing as a nerds, those so called "nerds" are just a bit on the weird side is all! Why can't people just be nice to everyone, and talk to everyone? But just remember not to be too nice!!!

The thing that bugs me the most in a person is when they feel like they have to be going out with somebody. Some people have self esteem issues, and unless they have a girlfriend or boyfriend, they feel like they are totally useless. Why do you need to be going out with somebody? Junior high and high school are meant to be fun, your supposed to date a variety of people and not just be tied down with one person. You don't have to be going out with somebody to be happy, there would actually be a lot more happiness and a lot less drama in your life if you didn't have one.

All of you guys need to remember to listen in school so you have some common sense. Also, be nice to everyone, even if you are more well known then somebody doesn't mean that you are better than them. Just don't be too nice because if you do you might drive people like me to insanity!!!

Cry Baby

"Oh my, gosh" I moaned covering my ears, not wanting to listen to one more second of Jake's crying. Jake is a family friend of mine and I've known him ever since he was born. He's only ten, so he's a little young for me.He has a sister named Christa that is my age, and so I hang out with her. Jake cries all the time. Everytime I go over there, by the time I leave I am practically pulling my hair out of my head because of the headache I get from listening to him baul like a two year old.

Listening to him cry is the least of my worries though. Everytime he cries Christa runs to his rescue. He'll be crying over something stupid like not being able to reach the treat he wants. Jake is ten years old, ten, and he's still crying over stupid things like that. An episode like this goes as follows.

"Jakey, what's the mattter?"

" Ccchrista I I I ccan't reach the fruit snacks." Jake says this in his annoying, shakey, after a big cry voice.

"It's Ok buddy, I'll get them for you!"

" Hurry, I want them right now!" Jake will shout at Christa. Christa will listen to his demand and get the fruit snacks as fast as she possibly can. If my brother yelled at me like that I would tell him to get them himself and probably call him a stupid baby! But not Christa, this was her reply.

" Sweetie, since you are having a bad day, me and Chelsie will watch a movie with you and you can pick it." When Christa does that I feel like telling her that she can watch the movie with him while I go home. But of course I don't and just end up watching the movie with Jake and Christa anyways. Jake will always, I repeat always pick "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." This movie is good until you've watched it a million times and have every scene memorized. Everytime Jake begins to say the words Harry Potter, I try to change his mind.

"Jake, since we have watched that everyday that I've came over for the past three weeks, can we please watch something else."

"No, Christa said that I could choose whatever I want, and you HAVE to watch it!" I can handle that because I really don't HAVE to watch it, but the thing I can't handle is when he starts crying again. Everytime I make him cry I feel absolutely no sympathy for him because he cries about everything. Christa again, starts to baby him. She glares at me and says,

" Why did you say that, I told him that he could pick whatever he wanted." My only reply to this is one word,

"Sorry!"

Eventually, Jake will stop crying and want to start the movie. I will sit through half of the movie brainstorming up different excuses of why I have to leave. Finally I'll come up with one and tell Christa that my mom told me that I had make dinner that night. She'll be so into the movie and just say,

" Okay, thanks for coming, I'll see ya tomorrow." I'll try to be nice by saying good bye to Jake and all he'll say is,

" Shut up butt head, you're ruining the movie." This never offends me though because by that time I am always excited to leave. I sprint up the stairs and get out the door as soon as possible, before Christa's mom asks me why I am leaving already. I sprint home as fast as I can, and when I get there I yell to my mom,

" Mom I'm home from Christa's house."

" Oh hello honey. Did you have fun at Christa's house." Before I even tell her the story of Jake's babyish ways she yells,

" I have some advil waiting for you on the counter to cure that headache that Jake gave you!" I know all about Jake, and his two year old fits, you don't even have to tell me.

Blog Post 1

HELLO WORLD!!!
